Bluetooth basics

Bluetooth headsets, which offer a convenient and user-friendly wireless connection between a headset and a Bluetooth-enabled cell phone, are now an "in" feature for frequent gabbers. To help you get familiar with Bluetooth, here's an overview of the technology and products:

Bluetooth headsets have become must-have accessories for cell phone fanatics. The benefits of these hands-free, wireless devices are obvious, particularly in the wake of state and local laws that require the use of a headset while driving. And just as the number of headsets has exploded, the number of Bluetooth cell phones has increased as well. Integrated Bluetooth is now present in a broad range of cell phones--from high-end smart phones to low-end functional models. Of course, cell phone Bluetooth usage is not limited to just headsets--you can also use Bluetooth to stream music wirelessly, connect to the Web, transfer files, and more.

Bluetooth basics
In Bluetooth technology, two devices communicate with each other over low-frequency radio waves in the 2.4GHz range. No cables or wires are needed, and the only requirement is that both devices be Bluetooth compatible. Unlike infrared (IR) ports, the connected devices don't need to be in direct line of sight, but they do need to be relatively close to each other. And like a wireless Infrared transfer, Bluetooth doesn't cost anything beyond the initial investment in the devices.

Pairing up
The process of connecting devices via Bluetooth starts with pairing , a procedure wherein a Bluetooth-enabled phone and another Bluetooth device search for and recognize each other. Once your connection is made and secured via a PIN (personal identification number), the two devices will "talk" to each other and exchange information. You can connect as many as seven devices simultaneously at speeds of 500Kbps and higher. Bluetooth does have limitations, however. Its range is limited to 30 feet, which makes it good for connecting a handful of devices but not appropriate for an entire network of computers--you're better off with Wi-Fi for a network.

straighten your hair(Tips)

Most of the women who have curly hair want it to be straight and those with straight hair want it to be curly and that’s something normal. One of the easiest ways to straighten your hair is using straightening irons, /flat irons as they are also called/. They use heat to straighten the hair and are made of metal or ceramic. The ceramic straighteneres are less damaging than the metal ones, because they evolve steam that add moisture to the hair, generate negative ions and straighten hair quickly and effectively. The ceramic irons are preferable to the metal ones as the heat is less damaging and cause no pulling on hair.Ceramic plates conduct heat fast and retain it so you can achieve optimum styling control and create poker straight hair. The infrared heat will seal in your hairs natural oils, moisture and colour so your tresses look shiny and healthy no matter what style you choose.
How to straighten your hair using a flat iron:
Step 1 Wash your hair:
Wash your hair using a mild shampoo appropriate for your hair type. Shampoo gently. Wet the hair thoroughly with water that isn’t too hot. Rinse with cool water to remove all traces of shampoo residue.
Step 2 Apply hair mask
Apply a small amount of hair mask to wet hair, concentrating on ends. Let it penetrate deeply for a few minutes and rinse thoroughly. The hair mask will nourish and replenish your hair leaving it improved texture, more body, easy to manage and with luminous shine. In my opinion a hair mask should always be applied before straightening hair with flat iron or chemicals.
Step 3 Condition hair
Use a conditioner following the shampoo. It’s essential because heat damaged hair needs more moisture. A conditioner will coat the hair shaft with a thin film that smoothes down roughened cells and fills in the uneven surface. A good conditioner will feed the root and repair structure to prevent dry, breaking, frizzy and splitting.
Step 4 Towel wet hair
Towel wet hair to remove as much water as possible. Comb wet hair with a wide toothed comb but never brush wet hair and never rub it. Carefully part and separate your hair into sections.
Step 5 Apply a heat protection spray
Applying heat-protection spray is essential, especially when straightening. These sprays are specifically designed to protect the hair from the heat when using straightening irons or curling irons and act as a barrier between hair and heat. Always spray the product before straightening your hair. Some of these products also help to straighten the hair, retain the moisture in your hair and protect hair from splitting. Put small amount of the product into your palms and smooth lightly over the tops of your hair.
Step 6 Blow-dry your hair
Blow-dry your hair thoroughly. Hold the hair sections out taut and point the hairdryer down to dry it. Use the brush to pull the sections of your hair straight at the ends. Never expose one section of your hair to intense, sustained heat from the hairdryer.
Step 7 Start ironing
Start ironing smaller portions, working your way up the head and set the right temperature for your hair. Apply even pressure and slowly move the iron down your hair. Avoid direct scalp contact to avoid potential burns and never pass the same section more than two times. Make sure you maintain an even, gentle tension on your hair.
Step 8 Apply styling product
At the end apply hair serum, hair gel or hair wax but make sure you apply it evenly otherwise your hair may look lank and greasy. Use your fingers to carefully arrange your hair. The product will maintain your hair in the desired position and will help it last longer.
Useful Beauty Tips:
* Remember: heat that is strong enough to change the natural style of your hair is damaging.
* Limit the use of flat iron and apply a deep conditioning treatment once a week to combat damage.
* Always use heat protection spray, otherwise your hair will get damaged.
* Don’t use too much hair products because your hair will look lank and greasy.
* Invest in good flat iron.
* Keeping the sections small will avoid ridges forming at the roots.
* Don’t try to straighten too much hair at once.
* To camouflage the regrowth line, part hair on the sides create a zigzag parting
or pull hair back into a ponytail.
* Give your hair a break and let it rest, but keep it clean and well-conditioned.
* Purchase the same line of hair products - they are formulated to work together.
* Applying harsh products, providing improper hair services can cause the hair structure become weakened and damaged.
* Always apply conditioner or hair mask before hair straightening.
* Never straighten your hair if it is still wet - the hair will burn and will be seriously damaged.
* Never repeat straightening the same section of hair over and over again.
* Make sure the products you use are appropriate for your hair type.
* Never brush wet hair - it stretches and breaks the hair.
* A good haircut is essential to achieve the perfect style.
* Always blow-dry before straightening your hair.
* Always clean the flat iron plate with a cleaner after each styling session.
* Never straighten your hair every day - reserve it for special occasions.
* Always unplug the flat iron immediately after use.
* Never use flat iron in bathroom.
* Try not to touch your hair too often.
* Regular heat-styling robs the hair of moisture and oil, leaving it more prone to split ends and breakage.

100 Ways to Save the Environment

In Your Home – Conserve Energy

4.Wrap your water heater in an insulated blanket.
5.Turn down or shut off your water heater when you will be away for extended Periods.
6.Turn off unneeded lights even when leaving a room for a short time.
7.Set your refrigerator temperature at 36 to 38 and your freezer at 0 to 5 .
8.When using an oven, minimize door opening while it is in use; it reduces oven temperature by 25 to 30 every time you open the door.
9.Clean the lint filter in your dryer after every load so that it uses less energy.
10.Unplug seldom used appliances.
11.Use a microwave when- ever you can instead of a conventional oven or stove.

The World's Billionaires

After 13 years on top, Bill Gates is no longer the richest man in the world. That honor now belongs to his friend and sometimes bridge partner Warren Buffett.

Riding the surging price of Berkshire Hathaway stock, Buffett has seen his fortune swell to an estimated $62 billion, up $10 billion from a year ago.

Gates is now worth $58 billion and is ranked third richest in the world. He is up $2 billion from a year ago, but would have been as rich--or richer--than Buffett, had Microsoft not made an unsolicited bid for Yahoo! at the beginning of February. Mexican telecom mogul Carlos Slim HelĂș now ranks as the world's second richest person with a net worth of $60 billion.

Microsoft shares fell 15% between Jan. 31, the day before the company announced its bid for the search engine giant, and Feb. 11, the day we locked in stock prices for the 2008 World's Billionaires list. More than half of Gates' fortune is held outside of Microsoft shares.

Mexican telecom tycoon Carlos Slim HelĂș is the world's second-richest man, with an estimated net worth of $60 billion. His fortune has risen $11 billion since last March.

Front Row

Life is a theater so invite your audiences carefully.
Not everyone is holy enough and
healthy enough to have a
FRONT ROW seat in our lives.

There are some people in your life
that need to be loved from a distance.
It's amazing what you can accomplish when you let go,
or at least minimize your time with
draining, negative, incompatible,
not-going-anywhere relationships,
friendships, fellowships and family!

Observe the relationships around you.
Pay attention to: Which ones lift and which ones lean?
Which ones encourage and which ones discourage?
Which ones are on a path of growth uphill
and which ones are just going downhill?

When you leave certain people,
do you feel better or feel worse?
Which ones always have drama
or don't really understand,
know and appreciate you
and the gift that lies within you?

The more you seek the things of God,
the more you seek quality,
the more you seek things honorable,
the more you seek growth,
peace of mind, love and truth around you,
the easier it will become for you
to decide who gets to sit in the FRONT ROW
and who should be
moved to the balcony of your life.

You cannot change the people around you ...
but you can change the people you are around!

Ask God for wisdom and discernment and
choose wisely the people
who sit in the FRONT ROW of your life.

Remember that FRONT ROW seats are for special
and deserving people and those who sit
in your FRONT ROW should be chosen carefully.

"I shall pass through this world but once.
If therefore, there be any kindness I can show,
or any good thing I can do, let me do it now...
for I shall not pass this way again."

Thank you for being in my front row...

Words

Do not boast tomorrow since you don't know what the day will bring.
Keeping our plans 'in the dark' is a good practice for various reasons.
Since the future can change without notice, reacting in a timely manner is
possible only if we have set plans in place, which are not affected by
others.

The virtue of humility is also a recommendation. Humility is one of the
major ingredients towards spiritual progress and a life of profoundness and
truth.

The third reason is simple: Avoid bragging about your plans, since if the
situation changes you will look like a fool for not keeping your promises!

Joke of the day

This is a true story from the WordPerfect helpline. Needless to say, the help desk employee was fired; however, he/she is currently suing the Word Perfect organization for "Termination without Cause."
The following is actual dialogue of a former WordPerfect Customer Support employee with a caller:
Customer Support: "Ridge Hall computer assistant; may I help you?"
Caller: "Yes, well, I'm having trouble with WordPerfect. "
CS: "What sort of trouble?"
C: "Well, I was just typing along, and all of a sudden the words went away."
CS: "Went away?"
C: "They disappeared. "

CS: "Hmm. So what does your screen look like now?"
C: "Nothing."
CS: "Nothing?"
C: "It's blank; it won't accept anything when I type."
CS: "Are you still in WordPerfect, or did you get out?"
C: "How do I tell?"
CS: "Can you see the C: prompt on the screen?"
C: "What's a sea-prompt?"
CS: "Never mind. Can you move the cursor around on the screen?"
C: "There isn't any cursor, I told you, it won't accept anything I type."
CS: "Does your monitor have a power indicator?"
C: "What's a monitor?"
CS: "It's the thing with the screen on it that looks like a TV. Does it have a little light that tells you when it's on?"
C: "I don't know."
CS: "Well, then look on the back of the monitor and find where the power cord goes into it. Can you see that?"
C: "Yes, I think so."
CS: "Great. Follow the cord to the plug, and tell me if it's plugged into the wall."
C: ".......Yes, it is."
CS: "When you were behind the monitor, did you notice that there were two cables plugged into the back of it, not just one?"
C: "No."
CS: "Well, there are. I need you to look back there again and find the other cable."
C: ".......Okay, here it is."
CS: "Follow it for me, and tell me if it's plugged securely into the back of your computer."
C: "I can't reach."
CS: "Uh huh. Well, can you see if it is?"
C: "No."
CS: "Even if you maybe put your knee on something and lean way over?"
C: "Oh, it's not because I don't have the right angle - it's because it's dark."
CS: "Dark?"
C: "Yes - the office light is off, and the only light I have is coming in from the window."
CS: "Well, turn on the office light then."
C: "I can't."
CS: "No? Why not?"
C: "Because there's a power outage."
CS: "A power... A power outage? Ah, Okay, we've got it licked now. Do you still have the boxes and manuals and packing stuff your computer came in?"
C: "Well, yes, I keep them in the closet."
CS: "Good. Go get them, and unplug your system and pack it up just like it was when you got it. Then take it back to the store you bought it from."
C: "Really? Is it that bad?"
CS: "Yes, I'm afraid it is."
C: "Well, all right then, I suppose. What do I tell them?"
CS: "Tell them you're too stupid to own a computer."

Selfish

The Lord led the holy man to two doors.

He opened one of the doors and th e holy man looked in. In the middle of the room was a large round table. In the middle of the table was a large pot of stew, which smelled delicious and made the holy man's mouth water.

The people sitting around the table were thin and sickly. They appeared to be famished. They were holding spoons with very long handles that were strapped to their arms and each found it possible to reach into the pot of stew and take a spoonful. But because the handle was longer than their arms, they could not get the spoons back into their mouths.
The holy man shuddered at the sight of their misery and su ffering.

The Lord said, "You have seen Hell."

They went to the next room and opened the door. It was exactly the same as the first one. There was the large round table with the large pot of stew which made the holy man's mouth water. The people were equipped with the same long-handled spoons, but here the people were well nourished and plump, laughing and talking. The holy man said, "I don't understand."

It is simple," said the Lord. "It requires but one skill. You see they have learned to feed each other, while the greedy think only of themselves."

Quote Of the Day
Real beauty lies not in the physical appearance, but in the
heart. Real treasure lies not in what that can be seen, but what
that cannot be seen. True love lies not in what is done and
known, but in what that is done but not known.

A Sioux Indian story...

My grandfather took me to
the fishing pond when I was about seven, and he told me
to throw a stone into the water.

He told me to watch the circles created by the stone.
Then he asked me to think of myself as that stone person.
"You may create lots of splashes in your life,
but the waves that come from those splashes will disturb the peace
of all your fellow creatures," he said.

"Remember that you are responsible for what you put in your circle
and that circle will also touch many other circles."

"You will need to live in a way that allows the good that comes
from your circle to send the peace of that goodness to others."

"The splash that comes from anger or jealousy will send
those feelings to other circles. You are responsible for both."

That was the first time I realized each person creates the
inner peace or discord that flows out into the world.

We cannot create world peace if we are riddled with
inner conflict, hatred, doubt, or anger.

We radiate the feelings and thoughts that we hold inside,
whether we speak them or not.

Whatever is splashing around inside of us
is spilling out into the world, creating beauty or discord
with all other circles of life.

Remember the eternal wisdom:

WHATEVER YOU FOCUS ON EXPANDS

We all think eating fruits means simply buying fruit, cutting it and
just popping it into our mouths.
You will benefit much more
if you know how and when to eat.

as is often done.
If you eat fruit like that, it will also serve
a major role to detoxify your system, supplying you with a great deal of energy
for weight loss and other life activities.
____________ ________

Fruit is the Most Important Food
Let's say you eat two slices of bread
and then a slice of fruit.

As fruit digests faster than bread,
the slice of fruit digests quickly
and is ready to go straight through
the stomach into the intestines,
but its passage is blocked by the bread which takes longer to digest?
____________ ________
?In the meantime the whole meal ferments and turns to acid.
Consequently, when the fruit comes
into contact with the food
in the stomach and digestive juices,
the entire mass of food begins
to spoil.

So it is better to eat your fruits in an empty stomach or
before your meals !
____________ _______

You have heard people complaining ?
every time I eat water-melon I burp,
when I eat durian my stomach bloats up,
when I eat banana
I feel like running to the toilet etc ?

actually all this will not arise if you eat
the fruit in an empty stomach.
The fruit mixes with the putrefying other food and produces gas and hence you will bloat !
____________ ________

Graying hair, balding, nervous outburst,
dark circles under the eyes
all these will not happen if
you take fruits in an empty stomach.

It is incorrectly presumed that some fruits
like orange and lemon are acidic and will enhance acidity in the stomach.
Research however shows
that all fruits become alkaline
in our body.
____________ ________

When you need to drink fruit juice ?
drink only fresh fruit juice,
NOT from the cans.
Don't drink juice that has been heated up.
Don't eat cooked fruits because
you don't get the nutrients at all.
You only get to taste.
So stop making 'durian porridge'
if you want nutrients.
Cooking fruit destroys all the vitamins.
____________ ________

Eating the pulp or whole fruit
is far better than drinking the juice
as the fibre is good for you.
If you should drink the juice,
drink it mouthful by mouthful slowly,
because you must let it mix
with your saliva before swallowing it.
____________ ________

A 3-day "fruit fast" is
a very simple and effective way
to cleanse and de-toxify your body.
Just eat fruits and drink fruit juice throughout the 3 days and
you will be surprised when your friends
tell you how radiant you look !
During the "fruit fast" you can eat different fruits at different times, although occasionally mixed fruit salad would
also be permissible and more interesting.
____________ ________

If you have mastered
the correct way of eating fruits,
you have the secret of beauty,
longevity, health, energy,
happiness and normal weight.
So eat fresh fruits and always keep smilingggggggggg

Time & Love

Once upon a time there was an island where all the feelings lived;
happiness, sadness, knowledge, and all the others, including love.

One day it was announced to all of the feelings
that the island was going to sink to the bottom
of the ocean. So all the feelings prepared
their boats to leave.

Love was the only one that stayed. She wanted
to preserve the island paradise until the last
possible moment. When the island was almost
totally under, love decided it was time to leave.

She began looking for someone to ask for help. Just then
Richness was passing by in a grand boat. Love asked,
"Richness, Can I come with you on your boat?"

Richness answered, "I'm sorry, but there is a lot of silver and gold
on my boat and there would be no room for you anywhere."

Then Love decided to ask Vanity for help who was passing in a
beautiful vessel. Love cried out, "Vanity, help me please."

"I can't help you", Vanity said, "You are
all wet and will damage my beautiful boat."

Next, Love saw Sadness passing. Love said,
"Sadness, please let me go with you."

Sadness answered, "Love, I'm sorry but I just need to be alone now."

Then, Love saw Happiness. love cried out,
"Happiness, please take me with you."
But Happiness was so over overjoyed
that he didn't hear Love calling to him.

Love began to cry. Then she heard a voice say, "Come Love, I will take
you with me." It was an elder. Love felt so blessed and overjoyed that
she forgot to ask the elder his name. When they arrived on land the
elder went on his way. Love realized how much she owed the elder.

Love then found Knowledge and asked. "It was Time", Knowledge
answered. "But why did Time help me when no one else would?",
Love asked. Knowledge smiled and with deep wisdom and
sincerity, answered, "Because only Time is capable of
understanding how great Love is."

Do you know ?

Do you know the legend of the Cherokee Indian youth's rite of Passage?

His father takes him into the forest, blindfolds him and leaves him alone. He is required to sit on a stump the whole night and not remove the blindfold until the rays of the morning sun shine through it. He cannot cry out for help to anyone. Once he survives the night, he is a MAN.

He cannot tell the other boys of this experience, because each lad must come into manhood on his own. The boy is naturally terrified. He can hear all kinds of noises. Wild beasts must surely be all around him. Maybe even some human might do him harm. The wind blew the grass and earth, and shook his stump, but he sat stoically, never removing the blindfold. It would be the only way he could become a man!

Finally, after a horrific night the sun appeared and he removed his blindfold. It was then that he discovered his father sitting on the stump next to him. He had been at watch the entire night, protecting his son from harm. We, too, are never alone. Even when we don't know it, God is watching over us, sitting on the stump beside us. When trouble comes, all we have to do is reach out to Him. If you liked this story, spread it on. If not, you took off your blindfold before dawn.

Moral of the story:

Just because you can't see God, doesn't mean He is not there. "For we walk by faith, not by sight."

All I ever learned from a dog:

1. Never pass up the opportunity to go for a joy ride.
2. Allow the experience of fresh air and the wind in your face to be pure ecstasy.
3. When loved ones come home, always run to greet them.
4. When it's in your best interest, always practice obedience.
5. Let others know when they've invaded your territory.
6. Take naps and always stretch before rising.
7. Run, romp, and play daily.
8. Eat with gusto and enthusiasm.
9. Be loyal.
10. Never pretend to be something you're not.
11. If what you want lies buried, dig until you find it.
12. When someone is having a bad day, be silent, sit close by and nuzzle them gently.
13. Delight in the simple joy of a long walk.
14. Thrive on attention and let people touch you.
15. Avoid biting when a simple growl will do.
16. On hot days, drink lots of water and lie under a shady tree.
17. When you are happy, dance around and wag your entire body.
18. No matter how often you are criticized, don't buy into the guilt thing and pout. Run right back and make friends.

Two Horses

There is a field, with two horses in it.

From a distance, each horse looks like any other horse.
But if you stop your car, or are walking by,
you will notice something quite amazing...

Looking into the eyes of one horse will disclose that he is blind.
His owner has chosen not to have him put down, but has made a good home for him.

This alone is amazing.

If you stand nearby and listen, you will hear the sound of a bell.

Looking around for the source of the sound,
you will see that it comes from the smaller horse in the field.
Attached to the horse's halter is a small bell.

It lets the blind friend know where the other horse is, so he can follow.

As you stand and watch these two friends,
you'll see that the horse with the bell is always checking on the blind horse,
and that the blind horse will listen for the bell and then slowly walk to where the other horse is,
trusting that he will no t be led as t ray.

When the horse with the bell returns to the shelter of the barn each evening,
it stops occasionally and looks back,
making sure that the blind friend isn't too far behind to hear the bell.

Like the owners of these two horses,
We are not thrown away just because we are not perfect
or because we have problems or challenges.
Others are mysteriously brought into our lives to help us when we are in need.

Sometimes we are the blind horse
being guided by the little ringing bell of those friends who are placed in our lives.

Other times we are the guide horse, helping others to find their way....

Good friends are like that... you may not always see them, but you know they are always there.

Please listen for my bell and I'll listen for yours.
And remember...be kinder than necessary- everyone you meet is fighting
some kind of battle.

Just Be...

Be strong enough to face the world each day.

Be weak enough to know you cannot do everything.

Be generous to those who need your help.

Be frugal with what you need yourself.

Be wise enough to know that you do not know everything.

Be foolish enough to believe in miracles.

Be willing to share your joys.

Be willing to share the sorrows of others.

Be a leader when you see a path others have missed.

Be a follower when you are shrouded in the midst of uncertainty.

Be the first to congratulate an opponent who succeeds.

Be the last to criticize a colleague who fails.

Be sure where your next step will fall, so that you will not stumble.

Be sure of your final destination, in case you are going the wrong way.

Be loving to those who love you.

Be loving to those who do not love you, and they may change.
Above all, be yourself!

Cold treatment

Common Cold treatment using Lemon:
Lemon is the most important among the many home remedies for common cold. It is beneficial in all types of cold with fever. Vitamin C-rich lemon juice increases body resistance, decreases toxicity and reduces the duration of the illness. One lemon should be diluted in a glass of warm water, and a teaspoon of honey should be added to it. This should be taken once or twice daily.

Common Cold treatment using Garlic:
Garlic soup is an old remedy to reduce the severity of a cold, and should be taken once daily. The soup can be prepared by boiling three or four cloves of chopped garlic in a cup of water. Garlic contains antiseptic and antispasmodic properties, besides several other medicinal virtues. The oil contained in this vegetable helps to open up the respiratory passages. In soup form, it flushes out all toxins from the system and thus helps bring down fever. Five drops of garlic oil combined with a teaspoon of onion juice, and diluted in a cup of water, should be drunk two to three times a day. This has also been found to be very effective in the treatment of common cold.

Common Cold treatment using Ginger:
Ginger is another excellent remedy for colds and coughs. About ten grams of ginger should be cut into small pieces and boiled in a cup of water. It should then be strained and half a teaspoon of sugar added to it. This decoction should be drunk when hot. Ginger tea, prepared by adding a few pieces of ginger into boiled water before adding the tea leaves, is also an effective remedy for colds and for fevers resulting from cold. It may be taken twice daily.

Common Cold treatment using Lady's Fingers:
Lady's fingers are highly valuable in treating irritation of the throat and a persistent dry cough. This vegetable is rich in mucilage and acts as a drug to allay irritation, swelling, and pain. About 100 gm of lady's fingers should be cut into pieces, and boiled down in half a litre of water to make a decoction. The steam issuing from this decoction may also be inhaled once or twice a day to relieve throat irritation and a dry cough.

Common Cold treatment using Bitter Gourd Roots:
The roots of the bitter gourd plant are used in folk medicine to cure a cold. A teaspoon of the root paste, mixed with an equal quantity of honey or tulsi leaf juice, given once every night for a month, acts as an excellent medicine for colds.

Common Cold treatment using Turmeric:
Turmeric is an effective remedy for colds and throat irritations. Half a teaspoon of fresh turmeric powder mixed in 30 ml of warm milk, and taken once or twice daily, is a useful prescription for these conditions. Turmeric powder should be put into a hot ladle. Milk should then be poured in it and boiled over slow heat. This mixture should then be drunk by the patient. In case of a running cold, smoke from the burning turmeric should be inhaled. It will increase the discharge from the nose and provide quick relief.

Common Cold treatment using Tamarind and Pepper:
Tamarind-pepper rasam is also considered an effective home remedy for a cold in South India. Dilute 50 mg tamarind in 250 ml of water. Boil the diluted tamarind water for a few minutes with a teaspoon of hot ghee and half a teaspoon of black pepper powder. This steaming hot rasam has a flushing effect, and should be taken three times a day. As one takes it, the nose and eyes water and the nasal blockage is cleared.

Common Cold treatment using Vitamin C:
Regular intake of vitamin C-75 mg for adults and 35 mg for children-will prevent the common cold. If, however, a cold has already appeared, large doses of this vitamin will relieve the symptoms and shorten its duration. It is estimated that one to two grams (1000 mg to 2000 mg) per day is approximately the optimum amount of this vitamin for this purpose. His advice is to swallow one or two 500mg tablets of vitamin C at the appearance of the first sign of the cold and continue the treatment by taking one to two 500 mg tablets daily.

YESTERDAY, TODAY, TOMORROW

There are two days in every week about which we should not worry.
Two days which should be kept free from fear and apprehension.

One of these days is yesterday with its mistakes and cares,
Its faults and blunders, Its aches and pains.
Yesterday has passed forever beyond our control.
All the money in the world cannot bring back yesterday.
We cannot undo a single act we performed.
We cannot erase a single word we said. Yesterday is gone.

The other day we should not worry about is tomorrow.
With its possible adversities, Its burdens,
Its large promise and poor performance.
Tomorrow is also beyond our immediate control.
Tomorrow's Sun will rise, either in splendor or behind a mask of clouds,
but it will rise.
Until it does, we have no stake in tomorrow, for it is yet unborn.
This just leaves only one day . . . Today.
Any person can fight the battles of just one day.
It is only when you and I add the burdens of those two awful eternity's -
yesterday and tomorrow that we break down.
It is not the experience of today that drives people mad.
It is the remorse or bitterness for something which happened yesterday
and the dread of what tomorrow may bring.

Let us therefore live but one day at a time.
